Another Start

I feel as though I’m constantly restarting this Genji Project. So many stumbles.

Maybe this time I’ll stay consistent? I’d like to keep moving on it. Eventually it will be finished, and that will be a glorious day.

Things have settled a bit for me, and I feel less stressed than I have in months. Having a steady job again helps tremendously. Time to roll the sleeves up and get to work on projects.

My first video in months went live a week ago, and number 2 went live today. I have the other two Waka Wednesday videos for chapter 29 recorded and ready for editing. Why am I not just rushing ahead and editing them all at the same time? Other things that eat up my time. The recording went more smoothly than in the past. I have a new set up, still have the same lights, background and positioning, but I now use my laptop as a teleprompter instead of having a static document on my iPad. This allowed me to record videos in sometimes a single take. That makes editing faster and easier. It also gives the recording a bit more of me in the shot. I’m glad to have smoothed the process and look forward to recording my next Genji episode for chapter 30. That script is still in the works; I want to finish it in time to record this Sunday. This past Sunday was reserved for my 19th wedding anniversary.

Have I said why I record on Sundays? My recording set up is next to the front window and it’s easy to hear the traffic from the busy street outside in the recording. I only have time at night and on the weekends, and the traffic is lightest late at night and on Sunday mornings. So I can get proper or close to proper sleep (and possibly have Saturday to finish the script), I chose Sunday mornings for recording sessions. I try to record several videos in a single sitting.

Outside of the Genji Project, I’m also auditing a Japanese language course. I’m hoping an actual class will give me more than the Duolingo app can alone. We’ll see how well I speak after a semester of instruction.

It’s tempting to dive head first into all of my projects, and you know I have plenty of them, but that will likely cause too much stress, so I’m focusing on the Genji Project, class, and exercise. That is more than enough for now on top of my other obligations and responsibilities which take up too much of what little time I have already.

In other news, it’s fall and the leaves seem to be changing rather quickly.

I see autumn in bright splashes of color that were once vibrant green.

If the trees are changing their gowns, then I must do the same.
